COVID -19 INTELLIGENCE

As the COVID-19 situation evolves, Chaffe McCall has created a cross-disciplinary team of attorneys to assist clients in dealing with the full array of COVID-19 legal concerns that could impact their business operations in several industries. Our goal is to give our clients the strategic information and advice they need to effectively and lawfully protect their employees and businesses during the pandemic and the reopening of commerce.

Chaffe McCall’s Labor & Employment attorneys counsel and represent local, regional, and multi-national clients in all aspects of traditional labor and employment law, including compliance with federal and state statutes and regulations, drafting personnel policies and employee handbooks, drafting employment contracts, conducting training for managers and supervisors, maintaining union-free employer-employee relations and protecting management’s rights during union organizational campaigns and collective bargaining contract negotiations.

The Section’s litigators also have decades of experience appearing before not only state and federal courts but also labor arbitrators and state and federal boards and agencies, including the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs, the National Labor Relations Board, Occupational Safety and Health Administration, and the U.S. Department of Labor – Wage and Hour Division.  We counsel employers on the wide variety of employment issues that arise in the workplace, including how to effectively manage discipline and discharges, complaint investigations, and reductions in force.  We represent employers in litigation of discrimination, harassment, employee benefits, tort and contract claims, as well as claims arising under federal antitrust laws and the Labor Management Relations Act.  We also have significant experience in litigation to enforce employment contracts and restrictive covenants, including non-competition agreements.

Clients include construction contractors, banks, insurance companies, educational institutions, wholesale and retail businesses, food processors, food service businesses, hospitality industry businesses, nonprofits, manufacturers, oil and gas interests, ship building companies, pulp wood processors, printing companies, steel companies, technology and telecommunications companies, trucking companies, hotel management interests, hospitals and other healthcare providers.
