The International Law Section of Chaffe McCall advises domestic and foreign clients on a wide range of international legal issues. We represent U.S. clients in other countries, as well as foreign interests in the U.S. Our attorneys provide counsel on numerous U.S. regulations that affect international trade, such as import-export regulations, Office of Foreign Assets Control Sanctions, and export controls.
We have assisted clients with international arbitration and cross-border litigation, the enforcement of foreign judgments and arbitral awards, and the collection of evidence abroad. We have further addressed and resolved international legal questions arising in U.S. litigation, such as sovereign immunity, comity, the act-of-state doctrine, foreign law, and treaties and conventions.
The Section is multicultural and multilingual, with attorneys who bring diverse language skills and cultural insights to their practice. Our lawyers maintain an extensive network of local and international contacts and consultants, including surveyors, accountants, translators, and law firms, enabling us to provide prompt and effective assistance to clients worldwide.
