Langenstein Hosts Reception to Commemorate 60th Anniversary of Korea-U.S. Alliance

Chaffe McCall partner William H. Langenstein, III, as part of his duties as Honorary Consul to the Republic of Korea, hosted a reception on December 11, 2013, to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the Korea-U.S. alliance. Mr. Langenstein has served as Honorary Consul to the Republic of Korea since 2010, and the city was honored to be one of four in the country chosen for the 60th anniversary alliance celebrations. The Honorable Ambassador Suk-Bum Park, Consul General of the Republic of Korea, co-hosted the reception with Mr. Langenstein. Also in attendance were New Orleans District B and At-Large Councilmember Stacy Head, along with members of the New Orleans Business Council, the Louisiana Consular Corps, the Committee of 100, the World Trade Center of New Orleans, and the New Orleans Board of Trade.

In the United States, there are 13 Honorary Consuls to the Republic of Korea. Louisiana exports approximately $2.1 billion in goods to Korea each year and imports over $740 billion. Investments by Korean companies in New Orleans have included Ankor Energy, the successor to Taylor Energy.
