Chaffe McCall Attorneys Contribute to Key Industry Discussions Through Leadership Roles with NARTC

Chaffe McCall attorneys recently shared their knowledge and experience with members of the National Association of Railroad Trial Counsel (NARTC) through two engaging presentations focused on collaboration, innovation, and the evolving practice of law.  Founded over 72 years ago, the NARTC is dedicated to advancing the highest standards of railroad trial advocacy, with membership limited to attorneys who represent railroads or their affiliated entities in litigation and related legal matters.

Recently, New Orleans Partner Brent Talbot, alongside Lee Miller, CSX Director of Risk Management, presented a discussion exploring the critical relationship between claims professionals and legal counsel. They emphasized the importance of understanding both operational realities and legal developments to make informed decisions throughout the claims process.  Brent is an immediate past Regional Vice President of the NARTC and continues to serve on the NARTC Executive Committee.

On October 8, Rosalie Haug presented “AI 101: Prompting, Productivity & Better Work Product” to the NARTC Young Lawyers Committee. Her presentation offered a practical introduction to incorporating artificial intelligence into legal practice, demonstrating how tools such as Microsoft Copilot and Westlaw CoCounsel can assist with document review, summarization, legal research, timelines, and drafting.  Rosalie also shared important considerations for responsible AI use, including protecting confidential information, personalizing AI tools to improve results, and addressing AI-related safeguards in protective orders.

In addition, Jesse Frank is currently serving as Co-Chair of NARTC’s Young Lawyers Committee and was recently recognized as the organization’s “Featured Member” for his contributions.  At the NARTC Annual Meeting held this past summer, Jesse was elected to serve on the NARTC Executive Committee.

As Chaffe McCall celebrates its 200th anniversary in 2026, our attorneys remain committed to sharing their knowledge, advancing industry collaboration, and contributing to the conversations shaping the future of the legal profession.
