Transactional Associate

Chaffe McCall is seeking an entry to mid-level transactional associate with at least two years of commercial real estate finance transactions and business corporate experience to work in our New Orleans office. Candidates should have experience in handling general corporate transactional matters, land acquisitions, title due diligence, closings, and related real estate matters. This is an opportunity for a dedicated attorney to further their career within a supportive and collaborative team environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Review title examinations to identify defects.
  • Prepare, review, and negotiate purchase & sale agreements, deeds, easements, options, and closing documents.
  • Draft/approve title endorsements.
  • Engage in due diligence related to real estate transactions. Handle a deal from agreement to closing, including tracking critical dates, reviewing title and survey and environmental reports, and preparing and negotiating closing documents.
  • Draft and review complex operating agreements.
  • Draft and negotiate loan documents.
  • Draft and negotiate different types of business transactions, including corporate, limited liability company, and partnership formations.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active and in good standing with the Louisiana State Bar.
  • At least two years of commercial real estate and corporate law experience.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
