Legal Assistant

Successful candidates will possess a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a legal setting, have proven experience with purchase agreements, contracts, and other transactional legal documents, have a demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and document management programs, as well as, excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong proofreading abilities, and exceptional attention to detail.

Insurance Coverage Attorney

Chaffe McCall, LLP seeks an experienced litigation associate to join our dynamic and growing Insurance Practice group in Houston.

The ideal candidate is well-versed in basic civil litigation, including drafting answers, propounding and responding to discovery, basic motion practice, and deposing witnesses. This area of law enables practitioners to develop their litigation skills further while representing sophisticated and well-established national insurance companies. The position involves working independently and collaboratively with other practice group lawyers. Responsibilities expected include:

Evaluating complex claims Preparing client reports Drafting pleadings Attending hearings Formulating legal strategy Conducting legal research

Managing discovery and document production Attend and take depositions Working on all aspects of pretrial to trial

Insurance Defense Attorney

Chaffe McCall is seeking an experienced attorney to join our team. We are looking for a Mid-Level to Senior Insurance Defense Attorney with 5-10 years of experience to join our dynamic and growing Insurance practice in New Orleans. The ideal candidate will be a critical thinker with a strong legal background and excellent writing skills. This is an opportunity for a dedicated attorney to further their career within a supportive and collaborative team environment.

Responsibilities:

• Manage a diverse caseload of insurance defense matters, providing legal counsel and representation to clients.
• Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to develop effective legal strategies.
• Draft and review legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs.
• Attend court hearings, depositions, and mediations as necessary.
• Collaborate with a team of experienced attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to achieve successful outcomes for clients.
• Stay current with legal developments and industry trends in insurance defense

Qualifications:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Active and in good standing with the Louisiana State Bar.
• 5-10 years of experience practicing insurance defense law.
• Strong legal research and writing skills.
• Exceptional communication and negotiation abilities.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• In-depth knowledge of insurance coverage and the insurance industry.
• Experience representing domestic and international insurers and reinsurers, including first-party and third-party matters throughout the U.S.
