Paralegal Position in our New Orleans office

Chaffe McCall, a prominent defense firm, seeks an individual to work in a dynamic team of legal professionals in a busy Insurance and Admiralty practice. The position requires a college degree or a paralegal certificate. To be successful in this position, the candidate should have excellent organizational skills, be skilled in document and case management, including the ability to analyze and summarize large document populations, ability to work across firm technology programs, and be able to manage and support litigation attorneys with deadlines and quickly changing priorities. The ideal candidate will also have strong oral/written communication skills and must be a self-starter and learn quickly. Experience working in insurance litigation is a big plus! Recent graduates are welcome.

Insurance Defense Attorney

Chaffe McCall is seeking an experienced attorney to join our team. We are looking for a Mid-Level to Senior Insurance Defense Attorney with 5-10 years of experience to join our dynamic and growing Insurance practice in New Orleans. The ideal candidate will be a critical thinker with a strong legal background and excellent writing skills. This is an opportunity for a dedicated attorney to further their career within a supportive and collaborative team environment.

Responsibilities:

• Manage a diverse caseload of insurance defense matters, providing legal counsel and representation to clients.
• Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to develop effective legal strategies.
• Draft and review legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs.
• Attend court hearings, depositions, and mediations as necessary.
• Collaborate with a team of experienced attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to achieve successful outcomes for clients.
• Stay current with legal developments and industry trends in insurance defense

Qualifications:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Active and in good standing with the Louisiana State Bar.
• 5-10 years of experience practicing insurance defense law.
• Strong legal research and writing skills.
• Exceptional communication and negotiation abilities.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• In-depth knowledge of insurance coverage and the insurance industry.
• Experience representing domestic and international insurers and reinsurers, including first-party and third-party matters throughout the U.S.
