Chaffe McCall’s Philip Sherman and Douglas R. Holmes were honored on May 16, 2016at the New Orleans City Business Leaders in Law reception. Holmes and Sherman were named as 2016 Leaders in Law honorees, which recognize professionals for their outstanding service to the legal community as well as civic and charitable leadership.

The listing is presented annually to New Orleans area legal professionals based on a combination of factors, including “their professional and community involvement and achievements that have set the pace for the overall community.” The list is published in the May 27th issue of CityBusiness and can be read here.

About Philip Sherman

Philip practices in the Business and Real Estate Section. He represents lenders and developers in the acquisition, financing, development and leasing of commercial and residential real estate. He also handles land use planning, including zoning, subdivisions and permitting. Philip currently serves as chairman of the Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation and is an executive committee member for the R&L Carriers New Orleans Bowl.

About Doug Holmes

Doug is partner working in the Civil and Commercial Litigation sections of Chaffe McCall, and his practice primarily involves the defense of clents in litigation matters. In addition, he has successfully defended product manufacturers and premises owners in jury trials in both Louisiana and Texas. Doug sits on the board of the New Orleans Association of Defense Counsel and is a member of the Defense Research Institute, the National Association of Railroad Trial Counsel, and the New Orleans Bar Association.
