Chaffe McCall is pleased to announce that Business and Taxation Partner, Anthony Dunbar, has been selected to serve as a hearing committee member for the Louisiana Attorney Disciplinary Board (LADB).  Dunbar is an attorney in the New Orleans office of Chaffe McCall and has tackled matters involving financial transactions addressing the business and banking needs of individuals and institutions. Dunbar’s exemplary legal career focuses on commercial transactions, banking, litigation, and real estate matters.

“I am honored to be able to serve the Louisiana Bar in this way. Though it requires difficult decisions, it is an incredibly rewarding job” said Dunbar.  Dunbar previously served two terms with the Disciplinary Board.

The LADB is the first attorney disciplinary system in the nation to incorporate the American Bar Association’s Model Rules for Disciplinary Enforcement. LADB is tasked with the responsibility of investigating all allegations of lawyer misconduct and making recommendations to the Court when discipline is warranted. The agency consists of a statewide board, hearing committees, disciplinary counsel, and administrative staff appointed by the board and disciplinary counsel.  Hearing committee members are appointed by the Disciplinary Board’s administrative committee. Nominees for the position must complete an application, agree to a background check and meet preliminary qualifications in order to be appointed by the Board.
