Rachel Bland Starring
Associate
Rachel Bland Starring enjoys helping clients find solutions to complex construction matters and advising clients throughout a construction project phase, from inception to completion. Rachel has experience working with owners and developers in all aspects of public and private construction and development, including large-scale new construction and project agreements. Rachel is an associate in Chaffe McCall’s New Orleans office where she also works closely with partners in the construction and admiralty practices.
Rachel has in-depth experience in marine casualty, the Jones Act, and general maritime law. She has defended shipyards, shipbuilders, marine insurers, subcontractors, and others in state and federal courts in Louisiana and Texas.
In addition to advising clients on construction transactions, litigation, and admiralty and maritime disputes, Rachel’s experience also includes:
- Coverage analysis and litigation related to marine and energy insurance policies, including:
- Protection & Indemnity (P&I)
- Hull and Machinery
- Marine General Liability (MGL)
- Commercial General Liability (CGL)
- Property insurance
- Errors & Omissions (E&O) claims
Rachel earned her B.A., cum laude, from Sewanee, The University of the South in 2012. She received her J.D. from Tulane University School of Law in 2016, where she was a Managing Editor of Tulane’s Maritime Law Journal.
