Stephen MacFarlane

Associate

Zealous advocacy has been the cornerstone of Stephen MacFarlane’s legal career.  As an associate in the Houston office, Stephen focuses his practice on general casualty, maritime and admiralty, and property (first- and third-party) claims.  He has experience handling insurance coverage and bad-faith litigation.  In addition, Stephen represents employers and insurance carriers in matters arising under the Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act and its extensions, such as the Defense Base Act.

Stephen proudly serves or has served in the U.S. Navy and Navy Reserves.  During law school, he deployed to the Arabian Gulf in support of Operation Inherent Resolve, during which he earned the designation of Enlisted Expeditionary Warfare Specialist.  His military service brings a unique perspective to his legal practice and the representation of clients.

Stephen earned his B.A., magna cum laude, from the University of St. Thomas in 2012, where he was a member of the mock trial team. Stephen received his J.D. from Texas A&M University in 2018.
