Elton Foster is a seasoned maritime litigator with over 30 years of experience defending vessel owners, shipyards, marine insurers, and businesses in some of the most challenging legal matters.

Elton’s ability to navigate complex maritime and insurance defense litigation has made him a trusted ally for clients facing high-stakes disputes.  His first-chair trial experience spans state and federal courts in Louisiana and Texas, as well as proceedings before the U.S. Department of Labor.  Elton also has experience in matters from marine casualties and Jones Act claims to Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act and Defense Base Act cases.

Elton graduated cum laude from Tulane Law School in 1990, and was the Editor-in-Chief of the Tulane Maritime Law Journal. He is licensed in Louisiana and Texas and admitted to practice before the U.S. Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals.
