David A Pote

Associate

David A. Pote brings nearly twenty years of broad, multi-state insurance counseling and insurance litigation experience to clients.   He is a member of Chaffe McCall’s Insurance practice and has successfully represented domestic and international insurers and re-insurers, in both first-party and third-party matters throughout the U.S.  Whether in opinion counseling or in the courtroom, David’s success has come in a wide range of policy contexts, from homeowners’ insurance to large-scale primary and excess commercial general liability policies.

David’s insurance coverage knowledge and experience are undergirded by a much wider wealth of experience and accomplishments throughout his career.  Prior to joining Chaffe McCall, he served as Special Counsel to the Attorney General of Louisiana in the largest civil litigation in U.S. history, which included deposing dozens of executives and both lay and expert witnesses.  His extensive experience in workers’ compensation litigation, including first-chair trial work, tackled issues ranging from minor exposure to permanent and total disability.  He also helped serve as national trial counsel for major insurance carriers participating in the National Flood Insurance Program, acting as the first-chair litigator for dozens of “Superstorm Sandy” cases in New York and New Jersey federal district courts.

David received his J.D. in 2000 from Tulane University Law School and served as an officer on Tulane Law’s Moot Court Board.  He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Birmingham-Southern College in 1994.  He is admitted to practice in Louisiana, Florida, and Alabama.
