CHAFFE McCALL TAKES A GLOBAL APPROACH TO THE WORLD OF ADMIRALTY LAW.
The practice of admiralty law has been central to the history of
Chaffe McCall, L.L.P. from the firm's earliest days. The Chaffe McCall Admiralty Section has served the international and domestic shipping communities since the 1820s. Over the course of generations, the section has diversified from its traditional role in the blue water area. Today, the section's practice is more varied than ever, but its approach consistently reflects our attorneys' broad knowledge and deep understanding of admiralty law. The result is effective representation, the cornerstone of longstanding client relationships.
Chaffe McCall's practice is international in scope. The Admiralty Section can support any type of litigation, in the U.S. or abroad. Chaffe McCall attorneys represent U.S. clients in other countries, and foreign interests in the U.S. The firm's staff is multicultural and multilingual, and includes attorneys who are fluent in Spanish, Greek, Portuguese and Italian. Attorneys in the New Orleans office regularly conduct investigations and monitor litigation in courts in Latin America and the Caribbean.
Chaffe McCall attorneys are admitted to practice in numerous states. They have appeared in Federal Courts throughout the U.S. and have litigated cases in Puerto Rico, California, Florida, Alabama, Texas, Mississippi and Washington, D.C. They have conducted arbitrations in New Orleans and New York. Members of the Admiralty Section have served in the United States Merchant Marine, the United States Navy and the United States Coast Guard.
