Number: (504) 585-7215 Mr. Young received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Louisiana State University in 1983, where he majored in Accounting. He received a Juris Doctorate from the Louisiana State University Law Center in 1986. He graduated from Baton Rouge Magnet High School in 1979. Following law school, Mr. Young worked for the Louisiana Supreme Court as a law clerk to Justice Luther F. Cole. After this one-year clerkship, he joined Chaffe, McCall in 1987, where he has practiced primarily in the area of commercial and civil litigation. Mr. Young’s experience in commercial litigation includes lender liability defense, commercial and residential foreclosures, collections and bankruptcy primarily in connection with Chaffe McCall’s representation of various lenders and financial institutions operating in Louisiana, as well as the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, the Resolution Trust Corporation and the former Federal Savings and Loan Insurance Corporation in connection with the receiverships of six failed Louisiana savings and loan associations. Mr. Young also has experience in enforcement of security interests in motor vehicles and defense of redhibition and warranty actions in connection with Chaffe McCall's representation of Nissan Motor Acceptance Corporation, AmeriCredit Financial Service, Inc. Regions Bank, Porsche Financial Services, Capital One, N.A., World Omni Corporation, Centre One Financial Services, Drive Financial Services and Ford Motor Credit Company. Mr. Young practices in the area of civil litigation include medical malpractice, products liability, pharmaceutical and products defense, insurance matters, and personal injury defense. Mr. Young is “av” rated by Martindale-Hubbell. He is admitted to practice before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, and all state and federal courts sitting in Louisiana. In addition to his memberships in the New Orleans, Covington, Louisiana State, and American Bar Associations, he is a member of the National Association of Chapter Thirteen Trustees and a member of the 22nd Judicial District American Inn of Court. Mr. Young has been American Red Cross volunteer for more than fifteen years and has served as member of the board of director and is currently Board Chair of the Southeast Louisiana Chapter of the American Red Cross in New Orleans. Mr. Young is also member of Advisory Board of the University of New Orleans Paralegal Studies Program and is active in other civic and non-profit organizations.
