Mr. Sims was born in Metairie, Louisiana in 1973. He graduated from Louisiana State University in 1995 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance, and in 1996 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. While at LSU, he competed on the cross country and track and field teams.

Prior to attending law school, Mr. Sims worked in fixed assets accounting in the electric utility industry. He maintains a Certified Public Accountant Certificate in the State of Louisiana. In 2001, he received his Juris Doctorate degree from Louisiana State University Law School. He is a member of the Order of the Coif and was a finalist in the Robert Lee Tellis Moot Court Competition.

Mr. Sims is admitted to practice before the Louisiana Supreme Court, and the United States District Courts for the Eastern, Middle and Western Districts of Louisiana. He is also a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association, the New Orleans Bar Association, and the American Bar Association. Currently, Mr. Sims is an associate in the commercial and civil litigation sections.
