Mr. Saunders has practiced law in New Orleans since graduating from the Tulane School of Law in 1972. He also received his B.A. from Tulane University in 1970.

Following graduation from law school, Mr. Saunders worked closely with Mr. Truman Woodward in the 1972 revision and editing of Woodward's Notarial Forms. He also served as a law clerk to the Honorable William Redmann of the Louisiana Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals. Upon completion of his judicial clerkship, Mr. Saunders entered private practice, concentrating in the areas of administrative, commercial, corporate, probate, estate planning, and real estate law.

In his practice, Mr. Saunders has handled administrative adjudications as both complaint and defense counsel, administrative appeals, rulemaking and drafting of legislation.  He currently serves as the Secretary of the Administrative Law Section of the Louisiana State Bar Association.  Mr. Saunders is also a member of the Louisiana Hospital Association, the Louisiana Rural Health Association, and the American Hospital Association.

Mr. Saunders also has an active practice in Trusts, estate planning, probate, elder law, asset protection and trust law. He serves as a Trustee for several trusts and is a member of the Council of Louisiana Trustees.

In addition, Mr. Saunders has much experience in commercial litigation, financial workouts, real estate transactions, the abstracting of real estate and mineral titles, zoning and variances, and litigation of all types at the federal and state levels. He has also represented many landowners in the negotiation of oil, gas and mineral transactions.

Mr. Saunders is also listed in "Who's Who in American Law," is a Life Member of the National Registry of Who's Who, and is a member of the Outstanding Lawyers of America. He has been trained by the Attorney-Mediators Institute and is an accredited Mediator.

 Mr. Saunders is admitted to practice in Louisiana, before the United States Supreme Court, and various other federal district and appellate courts. He is a member of the Louisiana and New Orleans Bar Associations. He has also served as an Invited Judge of the Tulane Law School and the Mardi Gras Invitational Moot Court Competitions, in both trial and appellate capacities.

For several years, Mr. Saunders served on both the New Orleans City Park Improvement Association, and the Friends of City Park. As a Park Commissioner, he acted as Vice-Chairman of the Legal Committee. For the Friends, he served as Legal Advisor, Vice-President, and President.  He has also served on the Executive Committee of the Boy Scouts of America, Pontchartrain Division.
