Mr. Rodriguez is originally from Bogota, Colombia, but he grew up in the United States. He is fluent in both English and Spanish.
In May of 1990, Mr. Rodriguez received a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Thereafter, he attended LSU's Paul M. Hebert Law Center, and he received his juris doctor degree in May of 1993. After law school, Mr. Rodriguez took and passed both the Louisiana and Florida bar examinations. He also became admitted to practice in Texas. In August 2007, Mr. Rodriguez moved to Houston, Texas to become the lead partner for the firm's new Houston office.
Mr. Rodriguez is a seasoned litigator whose practice encompasses numerous types of disputes, including marine/offshore casualties, insurance defense and coverage, personal injury, premises liability, breach of contract, products liability, oil pollution/environmental, labor and employment, and professional malpractice. In addition, Mr. Rodriguez regularly handles or oversees litigation involving foreign entities or arising in foreign jurisdictions, and his language capabilities have proven invaluable to clients in those situations.
Mr. Rodriguez has served as a faculty member at the prestigious International Association of Defense Counsel Trial Academy held annually at Stanford Law School. In addition, he earned and holds Martindale Hubbell's highest rating, AV, accorded by fellow lawyers and judges.
Mr. Rodriguez is also an active member of the State Bar of Texas, the Louisiana State Bar Association, the Florida Bar, the American Bar Association, the Maritime Law Association of the United States, the International Association of Defense Counsel, the Defense Research Institute, and the Hispanic Bar Association of Houston. He is admitted to practice before all Texas, Louisiana and Florida state courts, the United States District Courts for the Southern, Northern, and Eastern Districts of Texas, the United States District Courts for the Eastern, Middle, and Western Districts of Louisiana, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.
