After graduation from Princeton University in 1972, Jonathan C. McCall worked for the City of New Orleans as an Administrative Assistant to Mayor Moon Landrieu.  He attended Tulane Law School, was elected Managing Editor of the Tulane Law Review, member of the Tulane Law Review, and wrote a casenote published in Volume 50.  In 1977, he joined the Monroe & Lemann firm in New Orleans where he engaged in a general litigation practice, representing such firm clients as Ochsner Foundation, Cummins Engine Company, and The Firestone Tire & Rubber Company.

At the beginning of 1984, Jonathan joined Chaffe McCall and became a General Partner in 1986.  He has continued his general litigation practice of commercial litigation and a variety of casualty defense (products liability, FELA, and self-insured clients), in federal and state courts, and in mediations and other ADR.  Among other things he has defended Sears, Roebuck and Co. in a $100 million breach-of-contract case, represented life-insurance companies in a range of claims from individual policies to class actions, and defended a variety of products, including multi-piece wheels, garden equipment, and pharmaceuticals.

As claims counsel to the FSLIC as Receiver for Crescent Federal Savings Bank and was a member of the legal team for the takeover of Crescent Federal Savings Bank and Liberty Federal Savings and Loan Association.

In 2003 Jonathan became a member of the firm's Appellate Practice Section, where he has prepared and argued appeals in Louisiana and federal appellate courts, as well as participating in and drafting dispositive motions in the district courts. Jonathan is a member emeritus of the Board of Governors of Tulane University Health Sciences Center and a former Chairman of the Board of Tulane University Hospital.  He is a member of the local board of the American Red Cross, a member of the board of trustees of WYES-TV12 (New Orleans’ public television station), and has participated in other civic endeavors.
