Loretta Hoskins joined Chaffe McCall in 2006 and is an associate in the firm’s Commercial Litigation and Appellate Practice sections. Her experience in the area of commercial litigation includes contract disputes, lease disputes, business torts, lender liability defense, and corporate and security device issues. Her practice also includes work on cases involving medical malpractice, products liability, personal injury defense, and an array of insurance matters, including coverage issues and life and disability policy claims. She also has experience with ERISA litigation involving both pension and welfare benefit plans.
As a member of Chaffe’s Appellate Practice Section, Ms. Hoskins has prepared federal and state court appeals and state court writ applications in areas including civil and commercial litigation. She also has argued before the Louisiana Fifth Circuit Court of Appeal. A full description of the Appellate Practice Section’s work may be found in the firm’s list of practice areas.
In 2006, Ms. Hoskins graduated cum laude from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law, where she earned a Juris Doctor and a Common Law Certificate. While in law school, she was a member of the Journal of Public Interest Law and served on the law school’s Honor Board. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology and English Literature from Washington University in St. Louis in 2002.
Ms. Hoskins is admitted to practice before all Louisiana state courts, all Louisiana federal courts, and the United States Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. She is a member of the Federal Bar Association, the Louisiana State Bar Association, and the New Orleans Bar Association. She also is an active member of DRI.
