Mr. Crosby graduated cum
laude from the Tulane University School of Business in 1981, receiving a
Bachelor of Science Degree in Management. In December 1984, he received a
Juris Doctorate and a Masters in Business Administration Degree from the
Tulane University School of Law and the A.B. Freeman School of Business,
respectively.
Mr. Crosby is the head of Chaffe McCall's Corporate Section and a member of
the firm's Management Committee. He has over twenty-four years of
experience in commercial transactions, business law and real estate law in
both Louisiana and Mississippi. He has represented numerous companies and
individuals in connection with a wide spectrum of commercial transactions,
including mergers and acquisitions, business developments and capital
structuring. He has represented numerous lenders and developers in
connection with the acquisition, divestiture, development, leasing and
financing of shopping centers, office buildings, apartments, casino
developments, condominiums, assisted living facilities, low-income housing,
restaurant, and hotel developments. Mr. Crosby has developed extensive
contacts with City and State officials in the areas of planning, zoning,
subdivision and permitting.
He was honored in
2005 as a recipient of the inaugural New Orleans CityBusiness
Leadership in Law Award, which recognized 50 New Orleans attorneys for their
success in law and contributions to the community based upon professional
achievements and community service. Chambers USA selected Mr. Crosby in
2005 and in every year thereafter as a leading attorney in real estate and
ranked him in 2008 as one of the top 12 real estate lawyers in Louisiana.
He was selected in 2006 and every year thereafter as one of "The Best
Lawyers in America" for his specialty in Real Estate Law. New Orleans
Magazine listed Mr. Crosby in 2006 and every year thereafter as one of the
top lawyers in Real Estate Law. In 2007 and every year thereafter, Mr.
Crosby has been named a Louisiana Super Lawyer by Law & Politics and in 2009
was named as one of the top 10 Lawyers in the State of Louisiana.
Mr. Crosby is the Past
President and a Fellow of the American College of Mortgage Attorneys. He is
also a member of the American College of Real Estate Lawyers, the
International Association of Attorneys and Executives in Corporate Real
Estate, the International Council of Shopping Centers and the Council of
Advisors. Mr. Crosby served on the Board of Directors and Executive
Committee for the MetroVision Partnership Foundation. Mr. Crosby served as a
Contributing Author to Warren, Gorham & Lamont, Inc.'s Banking and Lending
Institution Forms, Fourth Edition (1992), a publication utilized by
thousands of financial institutions and law firms.
Mr. Crosby is a former member
of the Industrial Development Board and the Human Relations Commission for
the City of New Orleans, and served as the Vice-Chairman and a member of the
New Orleans Alcohol Beverage Control Board. He is a former member of the
Board of Directors of Young Leadership Council and the Louisiana Children's
Museum. He is a former member of the Board of Trustees of the New Orleans
Museum of Art and the City Park Improvement Association and Vice-Chairman of
the Board of Trustees of Metairie Park Country Day School. He is the former
Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Fidelity Homestead Savings Bank.
During 1999 and 2000, Mr. Crosby was appointed and served as the Interim New
Orleans City Council Member for District A. He is admitted to practice law
in and a member of the bars of Louisiana and Mississippi. |
