Douglas Holmes is a partner in Chaffe, McCall’s civil litigation section.  His practice has an emphasis on products and premises liability, environmental litigation, railroad litigation, insurance defense and business litigation. As a trial lawyer, Mr. Holmes has successfully defended product manufacturers and premises owners in jury trials in both Louisiana and Texas.

Mr. Holmes graduated from Tulane University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Economics in 1990. In 1993, he received a juris doctor from Tulane University School of Law. While at Tulane, he was inducted into Kappa Delta Phi and Omicron Delta Kappa honorary societies. 

In addition to his memberships in the Louisiana and Texas State Bar Associations, he currently sits on the board of the New Orleans Association of Defense Counsel and is a member of the Defense Research Institute, the National Association of Railroad Trial Counsel and New Orleans Bar Association.  He is a past director of the New Orleans Center for Nonprofit Resources.  Mr. Holmes was elected a Fellow in the Louisiana Bar Foundation in 2005 and has served as a judge for Tulane Law School’s Moot Court competition.
